Broken Promises

Standard

“I’m going to marry you one day.” He said.
“Then, we’ll have 3 boys, so they can grow up just like Daddy.” He said.
“And I’m going to build us a house, a big house; with a white Pickett fence.” He said.
“Our kids will have lots of room to run around outside with our pet dog & we’ll be able to sit and watch. In admiration as I hold your hand.” He said.
“The kids will be disgusted when we kiss, but they’ll know what love means. They’ll know how a man must treat a lady because I will show them by the way I treat you.” He said.
“I’ll buy you flowers, just because it’s Tuesday.” He said.
“I’ll take you out on dates, because we still need our time together, without the kids.” He said.
“I’ll listen to you, because I will be your best friend.” He said.
“I’ll protect you, provide for you, I will love you.” He said.
“I promise you.” He said.
“Together Forever.” He said.

“I’m pregnant.” She said.
“I’m scared, my mom is going to kill me.” She said.
“We’re only 17.” She said.
“I’m not ready for a baby.” He said.
“Me neither.” She said.
“So, what you gonna do?” He said.
“What do you mean?” She said.
“Look, I’m 17 years old, I got my whole life ahead of me. I got school in the fall. I can’t throw away my football scholarship, for no baby.” He said.
“But.” She said.
“But what? You’ll be a damn fool to keep that baby. You got school too.” He said.
“I thought you loved me.” She said.
“I thought you wanted to marry me.” She said.
“I thought we were going to be a family.” She said.
“Please.” She said.
“Say something.” She said.
“I already told you what to do.” He said.

“I love you so much, Princess.” She said
“You’re perfect.” She said.
“I promise to protect you, to provide for you, to love you.” She said.
“No matter, what.” She said
“I’ll never leave your side.” She said.
“We’re going to have a big house, with a big yard & a nice white fence around it. So you can run free.” She said.
“I’ll let you pick out our dog & you can name it too.” She said.
“It’ll be me & you.” She said.
“I promise not to break a promise.” She said.
“Together forever” She said.

“My illusion, my mistake.”
